Foster Care

Fostering Young Lives is seeking foster carers across Sydney who can provide safe and nurturing homes for children and young people who cannot live with their own family right now.

It is in the children's best interest (where safe to do so) to be cared for by their birth parents/family and whilst often children will return home once it is safe for them to do so, some children will need carers to provide them with a permanent home.

Currently, there are over 15,000 children and young people residing in an Out of Home Care placement, but only 9,000 authorised kinship/ foster care households.

No matter how long a child stays with you, as a foster carer you’ll make a positive difference in their life in a way that stays with them forever.

Hear from Aimee, a Senior Practitioner in our Fostering Young Lives program here at The Benevolent Society, who speaks about the crucial need for short-term foster carers.

You can find more information about foster care program, "Fostering Young Lives", in our information booklet.
