Changes to our Disability Services

Please read this important update about changes to our Disability Services

Transition of Disability Therapy Services to Australian Health & Therapy Group

What is changing?

The Benevolent Society (Benevolent) is transitioning its disability therapy and positive behavioural support services to the Australian Health & Therapy Group (AHTG), a leading provider specialising in delivering disability-focused therapy.

AHTG is a strong group of therapy organisations including Therapy Pro, Adaptability Therapy, and Tashacare Australia.

Benevolent’s disability therapy and behaviour support services will become a new organisation known as Avina, the fourth brand in the AHTG family.

AHTG’s brands have won numerous awards for the quality of their service, including Therapy Pro achieving Best Early Intervention Program at the Australian Disability Service Award in 2021, 2022 and 2023.

You can download an Easy Read document which includes the changes here.

What does this mean for you and your services?

Benevolent is committed to ensuring a seamless transition for clients . Our disability services team will remain largely unchanged, with all therapists offered the opportunity to transfer to Avina, to ensure that therapy and behaviour support services can continue to be delivered at the same locations, by the same dedicated professionals. A letter was sent out to all affected clients on 5 May explaining this change, what it means for you , and how you can consent to the transition of your disability service to Avina.

If you consent, Avina will take over your existing service agreement under the same terms and conditions.

When is the change taking place?

The transition will be finalised on 15 June 2025. You will need to provide consent by 16 May 2025 to ensure there is no interruption or delays in your services.

Our commitment to people with disability

Benevolent remains committed to supporting people with disability. Our NDIS-funded Early Childhood Approach (ECA) services operating in Queensland and Disability Gateway are not affected by the changes and will remain at services offered by us. We will also continue our pioneering In Sync Program work for children showing signs of developmental delay.

Should you have any further questions or concerns, please call us on 1800 236 762 or speak directly to your practitioner at your next appointment.

We continue to take referrals on behalf of Avina

During this transition period, we will continue to take referrals as we normally do, you can download and complete the disability referral form here and send it through to our friendly team at [email protected] or you can complete the online referral form here, and if you have any questions or would like to speak to us, call us on 1800 236 762.
