How is The Benevolent Society a Child Safe Organisation?

We have been providing support services to children and young people for many years. Their best interests and safety are always our priority. We believe that every infant, child and young person has the right to feel safe and be safe from neglect and physical, emotional, psychological, sexual and cultural abuse.

Some of the ways we work to make sure our young clients are safe with us is by empowering them to have a say on how we work with them. We ask our young clients to let us know what they think, the good and the bad. This helps us provide a service that supports them to be their best self. We also make sure our people know what is expected of them and we respond quickly to any issues we see.

What you can expect if you are a young client

If you are a young client receiving services from The Benevolent Society,  we want you to feel safe in our company.

Our goal is for you to:

  • Be safe and feel safe when you are at a Benevolent Society office, accessing a program or with a member of our team.
  • Know the names and roles of our people so you understand why you are meeting with them and what they will be doing.
  • Be able to let someone at The Benevolent Society know what you think about our people and how they do their job.
  • Say if you have a problem (big or small).
  • Have your views taken seriously.

What you can expect if you are a parent or carer

If you are a carer or a parent of a young client receiving services with us we want you to feel confident, comfortable and at ease in our company.

Our goal is for you to:

  • Feel confident that your infant, child or young person is safe when they are with members of our team.
  • Know the names and roles of The Benevolent Society people you see and why they are seeing you and your infant, child or young person and what they will be doing.
