This series is for parents and carers of children aged 2-12. It will include the key principles and strategies to help parent carers to develop healthy relationships with their children, and the know-how to manage the common difficulties of family life. We will be focusing on parent selfcare, being respectful as a parent, gaining cooperation, trouble shooting, and everyday routines.
Participants may book in for sessions individually or attend all 6 sessions.
Session 1: Developing Healthy Relationships with Your Children – 2 May 2024
How can parent carers learn to connect well with their children to improve relationships and reduce family stress. Come and find out.
Session 2: Self-Care as a Parent – 16 May 2024
Parental selfcare might sound easy, but we all know as parent carers it’s all too easy to overlook. We will be discussing the many ways you can look after yourself without needing to take a lot of time to do it.
Session 3: Respectful Parenting – 30 May 2024
How can parent carers become more influential with their children? Surprisingly, it comes by modeling respectful behaviour to their children. Come and learn how.
Session 4: Working as a Team – Gaining Cooperation – 13 June 2024
When parent carers can help their children to feel competent and capable they will also be helping them prepare for life. We will be discussing how to encourage and work with children to share the load at home. Come and find out how.
Session 5: Trouble Shooting – Managing Behaviours – 27 June 2024
How can you manage situations when your children are not behaving in ways that are positive and helpful? Knowing what to do in these situations helps parent carers remain calm and move through to a more positive outcome. Come and find out how.
Session 6 Everyday Routines – Mealtimes & Bedtimes – 4 July 2024
With a little bit of know-how and practice, parent carers can deal with problematic mealtimes and bedtimes more smoothly. Come and learn how you can reduce the time taken to get your family fed and rested.
