Social Skills Group

This group is run with two different age groups (8-12 years) or (13- 20 years). This group is run in school terms by our Speech Pathologists or Occupational Therapists. The aim of this group is about learning new social communications skills. Learning the unwritten rules of communication, the value of social questions, how to change topics, how to end a conversation properly and navigating social situations. The activities are age dependent hence the two different age groups. 

Where and When

This group is run during school terms and can run from the following sites: 

  • Melrose Park
  • Salisbury
  • Port Pirie
  • Kadina 

The sessions are for an hour and run in the mornings. These groups usually run for 6 weeks and start on Week 2 to Week 7 of each term. Enrollment is required by end of week 1 of the school term. These groups may be offered either in-person or via telehealth dependent on the client needs and location and staff availability.
