Support for people affected by adoption

The Post Adoption Resource Centre (PARC) provides information, counselling, intermediary services, therapeutic groups and support to people affected by adoption in NSW.

Support is offered to people who have been adopted, parents, siblings, partners and others who have been separated from family by adoption.

Support may include:

  • Counselling to assist with issues such as relationships, loss, grief, identity, attachment and trauma
  • Intermediary Services where a third party professional approaches birth relatives on your behalf, including preparation and support around contact
  • Information on accessing records and family tracing
  • Therapeutic Groups and Retreats.

PARC also works with health and counselling professionals to promote understanding of the adoption experience, and offers a library of resources relating to adoption.
