This group aims to provide connection and community development for socially isolated parents of our service. It provide capacity building with practical skills and basic knowledge whilst creating links to allow parent to co-design parent resources and future programs.
Each week will have a theme focussing on general parenting information. For example bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, sleep, making a friend and keeping relationships, bully and social isolation, managing meltdowns, entertainment on a budget and information sharing (pamphlets from CAHFS, health system) and linking to online groups to empower the parent.
When and Where?
This program is held over 6 sessions which occur four times each year. It's scheduled at the convenience of those wishing to attend (sometimes outside of business hours). And is usually held from our clinic in Salisbury (SA). We also offer this service via telehealth to our remote clients or those who prefer attending via a teleconference/ video meeting.
