The Acacia Ridge Early Years Centre Kindergarten and Long Day Care offers affordable, quality care and education for babies and young children in a long Day care setting, co-located with our Early Years Centre and is right next door to Acacia Ridge State School.
Our approach to early years education is enhanced through use of the Early Years Learning Framework , Queensland Kindergarten Guidelines We offer a child centred, purposeful and responsive program whilst supporting their agency.
Attendance and opening hours
Our centre has three pods including a Kindergarten program.
We care for:
- Pod one: 6 weeks–2 years
- Pod two: 2–3 years
- Pod three: 3–4 years
- Kindergarten: approx 4-5 years
Our centre is open Monday to Friday 7am-6pm for 50 weeks of the year.
Our Pods allow every child to belong to every space and every educator to belong to every child. We support every child’s learning by making our environments flexible inclusive and open to all children, supporting exploration and play based learning.

Kindergarten fees
The Queensland Government will offer FREE kindergarten (Kindy) for children in the year before Prep.
Kindy is a part-time educational program providing 15 hours per week for 40 weeks each year and is free for Queensland Children attending a government-approved kindergarten program from 1 January 2024.
The Kindy program is available at both sessional kindergartens, which operate during school hours, and long day care services, which offer extended hours of care.
Children must be at least 4 years old by June 30 of the year before Prep to be eligible. Head to http://www.qld.gov.au/kindyagecalculator to see if your child is eligible.
The programs are delivered by qualified early childhood teachers.

Long Day Care Centre fees
There is a child care subsidy which covers some out of pockets costs when attending the Long Day Care. A families combined Annual Income determines the percentage of subsidy they are eligible for. To be eligible you will need to meet residence and immunisation requirements. The easiest way to claim and apply for CCS is online. You will need a myGov account linked to Centrelink. If you do not have either of these, you will need to set them up. To apply please do so through Centrelink customer reference number for yourself and child ready to create a my gov account to link through Centrelink.
