  • Japanese Bathhouse Experience - Experience a spectacular view, whilst surrendering to the beauty of nature. Take full advantage of the public baths, and experience a traditional onsen. A traditional Japanese lunch and transport are provided.

  • Aerial Art on Country Workshop - Gain insight into the traditional way of life of the oldest living culture in the world through this colourful art workshop. You will create an artwork using paint pens, over an aerial photograph of a local beach. The workshops are embedded in local cultural knowledge, and the Indigenous facilitator will guide you through local Aboriginal stories, art symbols and explain the cultural significance of each symbol being used in the artwork.

  • Blacktown Aqua Aerobics - Aquatic exercise is a low-impact activity that takes the pressure off the bones, joints, and muscles. Exercise in water also offers natural resistance, which can help strengthen the muscles.   • Decluttering Workshop - Clutter creates chaos, which impacts your ability to focus. It also limits your brain's capacity to process information. Clutter is a form of visual distraction, which increases cognitive overload and can reduce working memory.
  • Dementia - Is It Dementia, Depression or Delirium? - This session provides information about the differences between dementia, depression and delirium and the relationship between these conditions.
  • Gaming & Cyber Safety - Online gaming can provide an enjoyable past time for our loved ones that we care for, but there are many negative gaming environments that can hurt or upset our loved ones. Do you want to learn how to support the person you are caring for against all the dangers lurking in the online gaming space? This specifically created course, is designed to teach carers the skills to keep their loved ones safe in a space many of them spend their time in.

  • Male Carers Aqua Golf - The Aqua Golf driving range is the perfect all-weather activity for all ages. No golf experience is necessary! You will enjoy spectacular views of the Blue Mountains and the Panthers Rugby League Academy as you tee off across the glistening water.
  • Manly E-bike - Explore the beauty of Manly Beach and its surroundings, while local tour guides take you peddling through breathtaking lookouts and secluded beaches. This 2.5 hour E-bike tour starts and finishes in the heart of Manly and finishes with lunch at Manly Wharf.
  • Meditation and Creativity - Expression of Interest - Art is a powerful tool of expression, and incorporated with a meditative practice has the potential to not only increase focus and concentration, but to improve mental and emotional wellbeing that uplifts the mind. Presented in the Centre for Creativity space at the Sydney Opera House, this workshop centres around meditation and art. The facilitator Dr Nadine Cameron, looks at the historical relationship between the two practices and leads participants through two meditations on projected artworks as well as a practical exercise.

  • Young Carer Camp - Join Get back to nature by camping in a tent along the picturesque Shoalhaven River. Enjoy activities like archery, canoeing, a slip-n-slide with a landing spot in the river. 
  • Zumba for Carers - Zumba classes are cardio and fitness based workouts, that draw inspiration from Latin-inspired dance. No experience is needed to join the Zumba party. Routines are based on the Zumba formula which utilises different music rhythm and repetition, taking simple moves to create easy to follow routines with a little bit of flavour and fun.

  • Arthritis Management Session - Arthritis is an umbrella term for more than 100 medical conditions that affect the musculoskeletal system, specifically joints where two or more bones meet. While arthritis is quite common – affecting one in six Australians, more than 3.9 million adults and children in Australia – it is not well understood. Arthritis Management sessions are delivered in partnership with Arthritis NSW. During the session, the speakers will cover the information relating to signs and symptoms, risk factors, diagnosis, self-management practices and resources.

  • Illawarra Ifly Treetop Walk - Expression of Interest - Immerse yourself in nature on a 1.5km treetop walk through the rainforest. Experience walking over a steel walkway through a treetop canopy, climb a spiral tower and make your way over a suspended swaying springboard cantilevers that leads to the edge of the escarpment, overlooking the beautiful coast.
  • Lunar New Years Eve Yum Cha Gathering - Expression of Interest - Join us for lunch at Yum Cha with other carers, to celebrate Lunar New Years Eve. Celebrating Chinese (Lunar) New Year's Eve has always been a family matter in Asia, it is the reunion day for every Asian family. It has evolved over a prolonged period of time. The origin of Asian Lunar New Year's Eve can be traced back to 3500 years ago.
  • Lunar New Year With Eden Unearthed - Enjoy an Asian high tea ceremony while making mini vegetarian spring rolls and drinking tea, followed by mini Chinese-Indonesian sweets. Artist Jayanto Tan will share his work at Eden Unearthed with you and explain what it's all about over a cup of tea in a private dining room. You'll be able to make spring rolls, guided by Tan, and partake in a small ceremony with traditional sweets.

  • Mental Health First Aid Training - Limited Numbers - Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) teaches participants how to assist people who are developing a mental health problem, experiencing a worsening of an existing mental health problem or in a mental health crisis, until appropriate professional help is received, or the crisis resolves. Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) courses are delivered under the authority of Mental Health First Aid Australia, by MHFA accredited instructors and we are pleased to be offering this 2-day Red Cross facilitated course to carers. 
  • Mini Mindfulness Workshop - Expression of Interest - Not able to attend one of our overnight or three day mindfulness workshops? Why not register for a day workshop?   • Sri Venkateswara Temple Helensburgh - Expression of Interest - The Sri Venkateswara Temple is Australia’s first Hindu temple built in the traditional style of South Hindu architecture and has been listed as a heritage item by the NSW Office of Environment & Heritage. The guide will walk us through the temple explaining the history of the building as well as the customs and practices of the Hindu faith. We will round off this wonderfully cultural and enriching experience with a (non-spicy) South Indian meal specially prepared by the volunteers that work at the Temple.
  • The Burnout Beaters Group Counselling - Expression of Interest - Carer Gateway are excited to be offering group counselling as part of our service to support carers. This is a ‘closed psycho-educational group’ consisting of a total of four sessions. The focus for the group sessions will be burnout and Self-Care in the caring role. In this Group, participants will learn to identify the four key symptoms of burnout, their adverse effects, and how to alleviate them with the latest evidence-based self-care strategies.
  • Tree of Me Empowered Art Therapy Workshop - Expression of Interest - The tree and its many parts symbolise the individual and our many parts. Our history and roots, the face we share to the world, our inner self and where we are ‘growing to.’ The workshop will look at what our tree wishes to compost and what we wish to flourish. The facilitator will talk you through the creative process of providing a way to connect to your emotions, your body senses and inner wisdom to help you develop new and healthy coping skills and a better understanding of yourself. The workshop focuses on creating rather than an art outcome, and is a visual representation of your emotions increasing self-awareness, self-compassion, and self-expression.

Join Sammy from Still with Sammy in this hands-on workshop, where you will be guided and informed of the principles behind creating an effective vision board to set you up for 2024. This will be a fun and creative workshop. 
  • Wind Down Wednesday - Guided Meditation - Meditation has been shown to produce a sense of calm. Which helps with emotional well-being and your overall health. De-stress, relax and reduce your anxiety as Sammy guides you through your weekly evening session.
  • Window of Tolerance - It is often difficult to regulate our emotions and how we respond to triggers or stressors. When stress or trauma shrink a person’s window of tolerance, it does not take much to throw you off balance. When reactions take over, you feel angry, numb, emotionally overwhelmed or your body just wants to shut down. In this interactive workshop you will learn strategies to come back into the window of tolerance and increase your capacity to experience emotions from a place of calm.

Participants also learn how to offer initial support and information and how to encourage the person to seek professional help or other supports.   • Northern Beaches Macrame Workshop - Macrame is a technique where decorative knots are created, generating a series of patterns. A very beneficial activity for both physical and mental health. By making the patterns and macrame knots we are generating a relaxation response in the body, a similar effect when we do yoga. This activity also promotes concentration, decreases muscle tension, and stimulates the sense of touch. All good reasons to try macrame and register your interest. By the end of the workshop, you will have created your very own (beginners) macrame plant hanger, with a pot and a fresh plant.

  • Emergency Care Planning for Carers - Emergencies can happen anytime. As a carer, planning for emergencies will help you to cope even when things go wrong. If you want to learn what an Emergency Care Plan is, what it looks like and how to prepare one, so you or the person you care for are looked after in an emergency, then this session is for you.
  • Festive Beading Workshop - Expression of Interest - Explore your creative side by making some beautiful beaded festive tree ornaments. Not only will you have loads of fun making them but all the items you create are also practical as they can be given to family and friends as gifts.

Enjoy preparing your own dishes in a fully equipped state of the art kitchen, then eat your delicious crisply cooked whole fish and coriander pepper prawns in the Sydney Seafood Schools’ stunning dining room. Everyone will receive a recipe booklet at the end of the session.

The school has created a productive garden which provides a hands-on approach to students, teaching them how to grow, harvest and prepare fresh seasonal produce.
  • Visit to Festive Markets - The Custom’s House Forecourt (Across from Circular Quay Station) is transformed into The Le Jolly Market bringing the magic of a French Christmas Market to Sydney. Come and pick-up last-minute gifts, connect with fellow carers and enjoy the Authentic wood huts, lights and candles, snow falling, jazz music and all the necessary magic to experience a unique festive experience.
