  • Family Life Strategies - Online - We are pleased to be offering the Family Life course presented by our very own Carer Gateway Coach, Bronwyn. This course will be delivered with specific topics per term. Over the year we will be focusing on childhood development, the reasons why children behave the way they do, strategies to use for specific difficulties and how to establish better family relationships. So come & learn all you can to develop good family dynamics which lead to a better family life.

  • 5 Day Mindfulness Workshop, Healing Your Life – Expression of Interest - An interactive, 5-day residential program for carers living with a variety of traumas and the challenging emotions elicited by them. If you want to heal the past, build resilience for the future, and live in the present, then this is the program for you. Your stay includes accommodation, food, a private counselling session and the week’s program.

  • First Aid Course - Do you feel like your first aid skills are up to date? Do you wish you felt more prepared for any emergency situations? You’re invited to get a nationally recognised certificate from CBD College for CPR and First Aid. Get the chance to learn everything you need to know about how to respond in emergencies by providing CPR, basic emergency life support and first aid. You will get a hands-on chance to practice your training and get the skills you need to assist with a job search.
  • Horse Riding and Abseiling - Saddle up for a day of conquering fears with a surge of adrenalin, standing atop a rock face preparing for an exhilarating descent! And then enjoy the tranquil mindfulness while you experience Australia’s favourite horse-riding tour. A full day of fun at Glenworth Valley.
  • The Power of Feeling Safe and in Control – Introduction to Polyvagal Theory - Join Dr Snow Li and learn the science of feeling safe and in control. Polyvagal theory in psychotherapy offers co-regulation as an interactive process that engages the social nervous systems of both therapist and client. In these 3-part workshop, you will learn about What is polyvagal theory? Learn how you can engage and master your central nervous systems. To bring you a state of calm.
  • Making Waves Sailing Experience – Expression of Interest  - Experience the wind in your hair sailing on a yacht on Sydney Harbour. The Making Waves Foundation offer this amazing experience to our carers. The crew will support you to get involved in steering the yacht or you can choose to relax and take in the scenery, cruising for 2 hours.
  • Medicine Management for Seniors - This session will cover the importance of medicines, in particular for older people. You'll learn about the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme, effects of medicine, correctly storing and disposing of medicines and the difference between brand name and generic.
  • Mental Health First Aid - Mental Health First Aid training is designed to empower carers by equipping them with the knowledge and confidence to recognise, connect and respond to someone experiencing a mental health situation. Statistics show that 1 in 5 Australians will experience a mental health situation. Statistics show mental illness will affect every Australian either directly or indirectly.

  • Queen Victoria Building History tour & coffee- Expression of Interest Only - Experience a historical tour of the Queen Victoria building and her grand architectural and design features including stunning stained-glass windows, clocks and atriums. While hearing the true tale of the building's creation, near destruction and preservation as you visit Ground Floor through to Level 2 of the QVB.

  • 3 Day Mindfulness Workshop for Carers  - Expression of Interest – Collaroy - We are delighted to offer Carers a 3 Day mindfulness workshop at Collaroy. During the three days you will immerse yourself in workshops which are relaxing, educational and provides you the opportunity to connect with other Carers.
  • 3 Day Workshop, Caring for the Carer - Expression of Interest - Exploring the importance of self-care and the elements that create resilience and peace for those experiencing physical and emotional challenges that inevitably arise within daily life. Our facilitators provide an opportunity for participants to reflect, replenish and leave motivated to make resilience and self-care a foundation for living.

  • Cake Therapy - Expression of Interest - Our last two sessions were so popular we are running another session! You have heard of Art therapy … well this is Cake therapy. No experience is needed, come along to a class and our instructor Amber will provide step by step instructions to create a unique creation to take home. Unless you eat it first!   • Carers Art Class- In person - By popular demand we are offering Carers this great opportunity to spend an afternoon painting and enjoying yourself, while you explore creative side. Use Acrylic or water-based paint, there's a large library of options to use from or bring your own inspiration. 
  • Car Maintenance Workshop - Let’s dive under the bonnet with a hands-on car maintenance workshop! Road safety is paramount to being a safe driver and successful ‘adulting'. Learn how to measure tyre pressure, if the engine is running smoothly, oil checks, how to change a tyre and more. Plus, every Young Carer that attends will also receive the Galmatic Glovebox Guide Playbook.
  • Expression of Interest – Cooking for Carers - The Cooking for Carers workshop will provide you a fun, hands-on cooking experience and some recipes to add to the repertoire. After the class you will then enjoy your creations together with other carers. 
  • Falls Injury Prevention - This session will cover important facts and actions to take regarding preventing falls and injury in seniors.You will learn about common hazards, osteoporosis and the importance of exercising to prevent falls. 
  • Girrakool Nature Diary Tour - This is a guided tour along the Girrakool track. The tour leads you past waterfalls as you explore the surrounds. Listen to stories of this stunning park as you sit under the gum trees. 
  • How to find the Right Mental Health Support - The mental health services include various types of support. Like physical health and wellbeing, mental health and psychological support also has its specialty ranging from preventative wellbeing focused support to disease focused treatment. In this talk, Dr Snow Li walks you through how to find the right mental health support.
  • Indigenous Dot Art Session - Limited Numbers - Learn all about the meaning of indigenous art, the stories behind each component whilst creating your own work of art. The session will be led by our very own Benevolent society Aboriginal engagement practitioner, Rachael. Rachael is a great storyteller and passionate about sharing her Aboriginal culture with you.
  • Japanese Bath House and High Tea – Expression of interest  - Enjoy a delicious high tea brunch at the Hydro majestic, before heading over to the famous Japanese Bath House. Surrender to the beauty of nature and experience the onsen and public bath culture. We endeavor to promote Ikigai finding happiness through the pursuit of reason for being. The natural mineral spring water flows from a depth of about 300 meters from the mineral rich layers of the land.

  • Understanding Emotional Dysregulation and Wellbeing - As humans, our biology allows us to experience a range of emotions. When our emotions become dysregulated, we become overwhelmed with day-to-day tasks and develop fear of building meaningful connections. In this workshop, Dr Snow Li explains why and when our emotions become dysregulated and healthy ways to approach emotions.

  • Youth Week Outdoor Team Building – Bush to Sea - Starting the day at the most northern end of Sydney with 360-degree views of where the ocean meets Pittwater. At this location you will be given an opportunity to explore Aboriginal rock art. You will be led through bush trails by an experienced guide and explore secluded beaches such as West Head, Resolute and Mackerel. From Mackerel Beach we will be catching a ferry to Palm Beach where we will walk over to the Stand-Up Paddle boards and get to enjoy our BBQ lunch.
