Since January 2025, The Benevolent Society has been delivering a range of family support services, in partnership with Goodstart Early Learning at its Elizabeth Vale Integrated Hub.

These evidence-informed, practical programs are designed to strengthen parenting capacity, improve family wellbeing, and support positive outcomes for children and adults.

“Locations like the Elizabeth Vale Hub are crucial to the support of local families across Australia.  They bring together early learning, health and family services in one easily accessible place,” said Samantha Beinke, Manager Resilient Families South Australia at Benevolent.

Benevolent’s Family Support Worker Therese Raspe also provides one-on-one family support sessions through community or home Visits.

Local parenting support

A strong focus of Benevolent's support at the Elizabeth Vale Hub is parenting support across different stages of a child’s development. Programs such as Bringing Up Great Kids (BUGK), Circle of Security, Tuning in to Kids and Tuning in to Teens help parents build secure relationships with their children, understand emotional and behavioural needs, and respond with confidence, empathy and consistency.

Practical behaviour guidance is also provided through 1‑2‑3 Magic & Emotion Coaching, supporting calm, effective responses to challenging behaviour.

“It's great working alongside our Goodstart partners to deliver this support to local families,” added Samantha. “Although we’ve only commenced delivering this support relatively recently, we’ve received great feedback from families. As we continue this support, we hope the Hub will become a space where individuals and families feel safe and comfortable to discuss their experiences and learn how to engage with their children, build resilience, new skills, and take these learnings into other life settings.”

Helping build resilience, independence and confidence

Benevolent’s Family Support Worker Therese offers a range of engaging programs at the Elizabeth Vale Hub, designed for all families who are interested in learning more about parenting, early brain development, and supporting their child’s emotional wellbeing. BUGK – The First 1000 Days highlights the importance of the early years—from pregnancy to age two—focusing on building strong relationships, secure attachment, and a positive foundation for lifelong learning and development.

For families impacted by domestic and family violence, The Shark Cage helps women to understand their rights and recognise coercive control, while Black Box Parenting supports parents to respond to children’s trauma with safety and understanding.

MoneyMinded strengthens financial capability through budgeting and money management skills, while My Strengths takes a strengths‑based approach to building confidence and identifying pathways for positive change. Anxiety Coach supports parents to understand childhood anxiety and develop strategies to build children’s confidence and coping skills.

“It’s always so rewarding to see parents take what they’ve learnt and use it in everyday life to create a safe and supportive home for their children.”
