Support coordination

The NDIS is a big change for lots of people. Our specialist NDIS Support Coordinators get to know you and your needs and support you to make your own choices about how your services are provided. From negotiating prices to NDIS reviews, we’re here to help you navigate the system and manage your services and supports.

Physiotherapy

From movement and motor skills to staying active, our physiotherapists support people living with disability. Working closely with families and carers, they focus on removing barriers to getting active and moving for fun, function, fitness and health.

Positive Behaviour support

Our Behaviour Support services are for people with disability of all ages. We take the time to understand the goals and hopes of people supporting someone with a disability, so we can provide meaningful support to promote positive behaviour change. Positive Behaviour Support Plans include assessment, setting goals for positive behaviour and integrating support needs. And we work to monitor and review those plans, so your supports meet your changing needs.

Psychology

Everyone has different mental health needs. Our psychologists support the mental health and positive behaviour of people with disabilities and their families with customised mental health programs. From assessment to behaviour support, training and counselling, The Benevolent Society provides the tools to support people and enable them to safely access the community.

Occupational therapy

Occupational therapists (OTs) help you get on with the activities of everyday life. Through training, equipment and new ideas on managing your home and environment, OTs support people with disability to build coping skills, self care, manage their mobility, and connect with the community.

Diet therapy and nutrition support

Food isn’t just about nutrition - it’s key to how we live and connect. Our Accredited Practising Dietitians (APDs) support people with food and nutrition conditions to improve quality of life and prevent or manage chronic diseases. From tube feeding to a new diagnosis that has you worried about what you should be eating, we’re here to support people with disability to manage problems with eating habits, weight, food intolerances and food issues.

Speech pathology

Imagine struggling to tell someone about your day? Speech Pathologists help people who have difficulty with communication, eating and drinking. From building social skills and no-fuss meal times to understanding language and saying words, our expert team take parents, teachers and other carers and support staff on the journey to health and independence.

Respite care for carers

It’s OK for carers to need a break. Our respite services for people with a disability under 65 are available for up to 4 hours a week in the home. Our trained respite carers give families and people who care for someone with a disability a chance to connect with their community and recharge to face the challenges of caring for someone with disability.
