Meet our Support Centre team

Have you ever wondered who’s answering the phone when clients call The Benevolent Society’s 1800 236 762 phone number? At the end of the line is the Support Centre - a team of friendly faces, who support you at the beginning and throughout your journey with us.

The Support Centre team can also help you navigate funding schemes and connect you to support services and programs within our organisation and to external providers. The team is made up of almost 20 dedicated team members.
   
Siavash Manouchehrpour, Manager of the Support Centre said: “Our people come from a multitude of backgrounds bringing diverse experiences to the team including Allied Health disciplines including Physiotherapy, Speech Pathology, Behaviour Support and also social work, mental health, homelessness outreach, counselling, IT, Legal; and other service industries.”

An inclusive and resilient team

Aside from skills and expertise in practice, our Support Centre team are resilient and solution-focused. They work collaboratively and communicate with each other effectively and regularly.

“We’re extremely inclusive both in our work and personal relationships with one another. Our strong team culture has seen us successfully emerge from many challenges and changes in the organisation, which continues to be our most revered asset to date,” expressed Siavash.

The Support Centre is a culturally diverse team and collectively speak 13 languages including: Hindi, Gujarati, Cantonese, Mandarin, Vietnamese, Portuguese, Spanish, Fijian Hindi, Japanese, Tagalog, Persian; and Italian.

“In 2019, we handled close to 59,000 calls, resolved an additional 10,000 enquiries; and successfully onboarded approximately 5600 clients across our portfolios and services,” said Siavash. 
  
“We hope to help more carer clients this year by expanding our team with the ‘Carer Connect’ team, as part of Integrated Carer Support Services service commencing soon."
