The Benevolent Society is proud to announce its own Marlene Krasovitsky has been nominated for a Pro Bono Australia Impact 25 Award for her work as the founding Director and co-Chair of EveryAGE Counts, Australia’s coalition and grassroots movement to end ageism.
Pro Bono’s Impact 25 Awards highlight people who work for the common good and catalyse change in Australia. The awards recognise ‘impact makers’ who spend their days advocating on the issues of the time, usually working over years and even decades to generate positive social change and support communities of interest. You can vote for this year’s nominees here.
Marlene is driven by a vision of creating an Australia without ageism, where all people of all ages are valued and respected. EveryAGE Counts, which is spearheaded by The Benevolent Society, aims to positively change the way we think, act and feel about growing older and to set firm foundations for both current and future generations to age well.
The movement celebrated its first Ageism Awareness Day last year, with over 150 groups commemorating the day with morning teas and an online launch event which was attended by over 800 people. Resources were also developed to help people better understand and identify ageism in everyday life. Find out more about Marlene’s nomination here.
