Matt Gardiner

Executive Director, Child and Family

Matt is Executive Director, Child & Family Services. In this role, he has responsibility for a broad range of services delivered across the country, including mental health, child development, community development, early childhood education and child protection and includes the Resilient Families Social Impact Bond.
He is on the Board of the Australian Council of Social Service (ACOSS) and the Chair of Governance with Qld Council of Social Service (QCOSS) and is the current Co-Chair of Anti Poverty Week in Qld. Qualifications include, Bachelor of Social Science (Couns), Masters in Clinical Counselling and Grad. Dip. in Strategic Leadership and is currently completing his MBA (very slowly…). He holds Membership with the Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD) and is Fellow of Australian Institute of Managers and Leaders (FAIML).
Matt is passionate about therapeutic practice, social justice and advocating for systems change and providing an equal opportunity to all Australians. Matt is an experienced practitioner and has held senior executive roles in some of Australia’s leading not-for-profit organisations in a career spanning nearly two decades. Matt joined us in January 2012.
