The Benevolent Society’s vision is to build a just society where all Australians can live their best life. For more than 200 years we have supported people at the margins of society: children, young people, and their families; First Nations Australians; older people; carers and people with disability. We are an independent, non-religious service provider which supports people to live life their way. We use our practice wisdom to mobilise social movements that advocate for anyone in need and create social change.

Child, and Family Services Gold Coast provides services to families who have young children aged 0–8 years, with a parenting 'one stop shop' – somewhere they can access a range of support and services to improve their children's health, well-being and safety.

About the role

Working alongside our multidisciplinary team you will support child-centred, culturally sensitive and developmentally appropriate programs that meet the needs, interests and strengths of children (0-8) and families (attending our play programs, specialist groups and parenting programs).

  • We celebrate the best live moments; the small acts that make a difference within our teams and with our clients

  • Suitable qualifications such as Early Childhood Education, Social Sciences, Social Work or Psychology, with Experience in Early childhood being highly desirable.
  • A commitment to play based approaches with a focus on building parent-child relationships to improve the long-term outcomes for children
  • Experience in working with and supporting vulnerable families to realise positive change
  • Understanding of child protection concerns and the impact of trauma on child behaviour and development
  • Great people skills and the ability to create strong working relationships with people from all walks of life
