IT Development Team Leader

About the role

As part of the Information Technology team, this hands-on position will lead the development team to ensure that applications are up and performing as required, application development and management processes are continuously improved, service delivery meets all internal and external standards and expectations, and more!

Duties

As the Development Team Leader, you will lead the development team to achieve key outcomes in line with compliance standards, and

  • Monitor and optimise applications to ensure an appropriate level of performance is achieved
  • Provide technical knowledge and guidance to enable and facilitate testing and release activities
  • Maintain, develop, document and store specialist technical knowledge for responsible core applications
  • Supervise and maintain standards for application sizing and performance
  • Provide guidance for:
    • Proactive development for enterprise applications
    • Production of intuitive solutions requiring little or no training
    • Analysis of root causes and provide a permanent fix solution or workaround
  • Develop and maintain relations with key internal and external stakeholders, business owners, SMEs of applications, and clients
  • Identify key areas for process improvement in the provision of applications development and management

Skills and experience

We want you to be successful in your new role! This means you will have:

  • Team leadership experience
  • Tertiary qualifications in IT or equivalent experience
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise application development, Integration, and Analytics & Reporting
  • A background developing in the Microsoft stack and/or Salesforce
  • Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in:
    • Application performance tuning, integration, and testing
    • Building standards for software development across a variety of platforms/arenas
    • Implementing internal structures and processes to manage the efficient use of resources
    • Putting together automated processes for recording developers' time on multiple projects for charge back, reporting and efficiency metrics purposes
  • Expert understanding of configuring data sources and configuration files
  • Broad IT Generalist experience across systems
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, relationship-building skills, and reporting skills, working with both technical and business teams
  • Ability to work under pressure and ambiguity
