Psychologist

  • Full time or part time role based in Wollongong, NSW
  • $94k - $105k inclusive of Super + Salary Packaging
  • Will consider a Provisional psychologist that is self-funding their own steps to their qualification- we support your study leave & will reduce hours/days during exam times!

Your new role

As our Psychologist, you will support children and adults to participate fully in life by providing high quality, culturally appropriate psychological and behaviour support interventions, often in relation to complex or challenging behaviour. You will provide assessment, individual psychological therapy and behaviour support in line with the person’s NDIS plan. 

Duties

  • Provide high quality, cultural appropriate psychological interventions to people with disability, often in relation to complex or challenging behaviour
  • Participate in collaborative discussions with clients, carers/family and other health professionals to achieve the best outcomes for the client’s current risks and to map with that group the goals and evaluation required to achieve those goals
  • Implement appropriate evidence based services that meet the needs of client according to the goals and within the allocated hours of the NDIS plan or as per TBS requirements
  • Participate in support planning processes for clients to deliver coordinated, effective service provision that meets the goals of the client’s NDIS plan

Skills and Experience 

You will have a degree qualification in Psychology recognised by the national professional association and have: 

  • Current AHPRA Registration
  • Demonstrated reliability and professionalism
  • Experience with intellectual disability and the capacity to adapt evidence based treatments to suit individual needs of the person
  • Experience conducting assessments to create Behaviour Support Plans to to support children and adults that may exhibit behaviours of concern to participate fully in life and achieve their clearly defined goals
  • Provide formal training and guidance to families and service providers based on the BSP
  • Hold or are will to obtain core and proficient self-assessments
  • Current driver's license and willingness/ability to travel to clients where required within the Illawarra
