We are a community based not for profit organisation focused on building resilience so children and families can live their best life!

Our Early Years Centre is a hub for families offering health services, family support services and holistic early childhood Kindergarten education which wraps around support to families accessing our service. 

Your new role

As our Teacher, you will provide an active play based learning environment that builds agency and is responsive to children’s strengths, interests and curiosity. You will work as a team of 3 alongside another Teacher and Child and Family Practitioner with a supportive non-contact Nominated Supervisor and Educational Leader.  You will be provided generous amounts of non-contact programming time alongside your team.

Our Sessional Kindergarten enables children to enjoy indoor and outdoor natural play areas, rooms equipped with the latest age appropriate technology and learning resources. The Kindergarten caters for 22 children per day, with operating hours from 8:15am to 2:30pm during school terms . 

Duties

  • Plan, implement and document a rich program which reflects your vision of a creative learning environment for children of all abilities and all cultures
  • Collaborate and work alongside other professionals like Social Workers, Child Health Nurses, Speech Pathologist and Child Psychologist 
  • Undertake assessments to evaluate children’s readiness for school, identifying strategies and providing support for children and parents where appropriate
  • Support and guide room staff in their daily work to enable the effective provision of services across the day

What you need to succeed?

  • Bachelor of Early Childhood with experience in a similar role
  • A sound knowledge of the Kindergarten Learning Guidelines, Early Years Learning Framework and innovative practice
  • Great people skills and the ability to create strong respectful relationships with people from all walks of life
  • Good time management and organisational skills including the ability to be flexible
  • Experience developing a rich curriculum utilising current pedagogy
  • Commitment to lead your own intentional reflection to continually build practice and outcomes
