Assistant Accountant

  • Full time position based in Glebe, NSW (National Office)
  • Salary : $77k TRP

As our Assistant Accountant you will be a key support to our accounting team, ensuring accurate and timely preparation and analysis of financial reports that add value to the organisation.

About the role:

As our Assistant Accountant, you will be responsible for;

  • Reconciling assigned Balance Sheet accounts and accurate and timely posting of journals
  • Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of information going into the monthly reporting
  • Liaise with various non-financial stakeholders, Finance Business Partners and our IT Purchasing and Asset Officer

What you need to succeed?

You will have an Australian tertiary qualification in Accounting or be studying towards CPA with:

  • 2+ years experience in Accounting ideally in Not for Profit or a similar industry
  • A strong understanding of Australian Accounting Standards
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively rely financial information to non-financial stakeholders
  • Outstanding attention to detail with the ability to question the pieces that are missing or don’t make sense
  • The ability to balance multiple tasks, manage interruptions and competing priorities effectively
  • Can do, outcomes focused attitude with the ability to work autonomously and contribute to team outcomes
