We know that parenting is challenging and complex and we help families raise happy, healthy and safe children.
We work with families who just need a little support, providing parenting programs, playgroups, counselling, child care, parenting groups, home visiting and prenatal and postnatal health services. We also provide intensive support to families where children have experienced abuse and neglect.
We offer specialised support to families with a child or young person affected by mental illness and support young people who care for a family member with a disability or mental illness.
High quality early childhood support
Our Early Years Centres in Queensland can be found in Acacia Ridge, Beaudesert, Browns Plains, Cairns, Labrador and North Gold Coast. Each offer a wide range of parenting, early childhood education and care, and health services under one roof, making life easier for families. We also offer some child care and kindergarten programs, which have a strong focus on the social and emotional development of young children. Intensive support for families
Some of the families we work with are facing significant and complex challenges such as alcohol abuse or domestic violence. Our Brighter Futures, Kids in Focus, Scarba and Helping Out Families programs provide these families with support, including professional home visiting, counselling, parenting support, playgroups and access to high quality child care and early education. We also run Family Referral Services to help people address issues before they escalate.
Some children we work with cannot live safely with their families and our foster care service in NSW provides them with safe homes.
Helping communities support children
We know from research and experience that kids are happier and safer when they have positive relationships with kids their own age, schools and communities, and their own family. That’s why in some areas our Communities for Children programs are working with whole communities to build a safer environment for all local children.
